St. Dominic Savio’s High School Shiksha Kendra, Nasriganj, Digha, Patna is a Christian linguistic minority institution founded in 1982. It is established and administered by the Society of St. Dominic Savio’s High School whose members belong to the Anglo-Indian/Christian Community.

The school was founded by its founder director Late Joseph P. Galstaun under article 29 and 30 of the constitution of India. This being a Christian linguistic minority institution, it primarily caters to the educational needs of Anglo-Indian/Christian community, but admission is open to others also irrespective of religion caste or community depending upon the availability of seats. As an institution this school strives to adapt itself to the needs and aspirations of the people in the admission of students and appointment of teachers, the school gives priority to Anglo-Indians/Christians, if they are eligible. The School is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education up to the senior Secondary level. The major object of this institution is to educate the youth in a spirit of service to humanity. The institution’s priorities in education, are not only scholastic excellence but also formation of youth in discipline, hard work, moral and religious values. These priorities are meant to prepare the youth for life by promoting intellectual excellence, uprightness of character, emotional maturity, scientific temper, spirit of healthy competition, co-operation and sportsmanship through co-curricular activities, moral sensitivity to the needs and rights of others, especially the poor, religious tolerance and national integration. The school has a sprawling campus, a large swimming pool exclusively for the use of the students of this school. The school has a team of good qualified and experienced teachers who are well versed with the syllabus of the C.B.S.E. and it strives to preserve the customs and traditions of our rich cultural heritage. The school follows the Formative and Summative Assessment system prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education. The school is ISO 9001:2008 certified. The session followed by the school is from April to March that is, the session starts from the Month of April and ends in March the following year. The school has a record of outstanding results at the AISSE (Std.X) and the AISCE (Std. XII) examination conducted by the CBSE so far.

The school has a well established library with collection of standard and valuable books on different topics. The school has state of the art modern laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. It also has two Computer Laboratories for the junior and senior students. Classes are equipped with Smart Board for audio-visual teaching. Courses for Study. The school has a full time counselor for the benefit of the students.

St. Dominic Savio’s High School was the brainchild of two great educationists late Joseph Galstaun and his wife Molly Galstaun. Both were well known for their teaching skills and the institution that imparts quality education today is the result of their hard work, dedication and sacrifice.

St. Dominic Savio’s High School was established in 1982 by Late Joseph P. Galstaun who was a well known educationist, philantrophist and social worker. He started his teaching career in 1958. There were many hurdles he crossed before the founders witnessed the great joy and excitement of their own achievement
